It sounds seriously wonderful, and I love that it's based on Inuit mythology. You're right, it's not something one encounters in literature often, so I'm sure I'll love to be exposed to it through this book.

Me 1 - 0 Google Reader Starred Posts :PAna S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16092495983972185943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6907747392138991807.post-78132800771555688932010-03-07T11:27:08.915-05:002010-03-07T11:27:08.915-05:00Welcome back, Phyl! Sometimes I do find libraries (my own included) can be a little heavy-handed in designating what is for whom, even though we're generally very aware of trying to avoid anything that even slightly resembles censorship. I'm a rabid freedom-to-read proponent and I still have to watch myself constantly.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10330550798080469047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6907747392138991807.post-19133397175556520752010-03-01T14:40:53.513-05:002010-03-01T14:40:53.513-05:00It sounds like a fantastic book - I will add it to...It sounds like a fantastic book - I will add it to my list. I love learning about other cultures through fiction. I want to add something flippant about me being lazy but seriously, I think narrative is the best way to learn about each other.

I might read it in summer, though, when I need cooling down.

Interesting discussion about what goes in JFIC and what goes in YA. I have a very precocious 6-year-old reader and I'm having trouble walking that line of books that are "hard" enough for her but with content and themes that are suitable. Clearly this is not one of them!Amy Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04020517856253642556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6907747392138991807.post-36831507014099734712010-03-01T08:16:02.066-05:002010-03-01T08:16:02.066-05:00It was indeed a perfect setting for writing the re...It was indeed a perfect setting for writing the review!
